Zoning Decision: 525 Wharton Street

The DNCA Zoning Committee feels the granting of the variances do not impair the zoning code outlined in §14-1802, that the benefits outweigh any detriments to public health and safety.  One resident showed up in support of the application.  After hearing the presentation on the proposed construction on the property, the Zoning Committee recommends the Philadelphia Zoning Board of Adjustment approve the proposed application for the maintenance of no more than two dwelling units in the structure.  No bulk variances were requested with this application. Furthermore, the Zoning Committee recommends and has strongly encouraged the applicant to install a street tree along Wharton Avenue for aesthetic, traffic calming and stormwater purposes.  We encourage the applicant to get involved in the Dickinson Narrows Civic Association (DNCA).
